Synopsis


Musical adaptation of Charles Dickens's classic tale of an orphan who runs away from the workhouse and has adventures with a gang of pickpockets and the like.


Shani's Character


Nancy is a complex tragic character, the sympathetic lover of Bill Sikes. She acts as a sort of mother figure for Oliver and the rest of the pickpockets. She is often in conflict with the worlds of good and evil.

- Shani was spotted to audition for the role of Nancy after appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show.
- Shani replaced the original musical's Nancy Georgia Brown for the film.
- Shani wore a wig for the role.
- Shani believes that anyone that plays Nancy should have a good understanding of Victorian London and have real depth to the role.
